Journalist profile : Manoj Neupane

Manoj Neupane is a dynamic multimedia coordinator Journalist who has already given a decade to this industry. He is currently working as a multimedia coordinator for Ratopati.com. He was born and grown up in Fungling Municipality, Taplejung. He was a good student and pursued his bachelor’s degree in economics. His family had poor economic condition, so he had to work for his pocket money. He had interest in computers, so he learned it somehow and started training students. Whatever he learnt in the morning, he used to teach the same to his students during the day. He was earning for his further studies. After the completion of bachelor from Damak Multiple campus, he decided to travel to Kathmandu. Manoj Neupane’s Journey into Journalism began after he entered the capital city. He had already learned about video editing and basic computer skills when he was in his bachelor’s. That skill helped him to last in Kathmandu. He worked as a senior visual editor and edited serials like ‘Meri Bassai’ and ‘Bhadragol’. Till then he didn’t have any knowledge about journalism. While working as a senior video editor, he along with his friends decided to run an online media named purbanepal.com in Damak, Jhapa which again led him back to Damak. But after learning to take interviews, write and read news, he left his online and came back to Kathmandu. After that he genuinely started to work as a journalist. He never finds the content attractive brought by reporters while editing videos so he himself started working as a reporter. His journey as a reporter started from ‘Sutra tv’. He just worked for 44 days there. He got offer from Nepal live.com and he embarked on a career as a multimedia journalist initially working as an Entertainment Reporter. He started news reading and taking interviews there. After that he worked in Nepal’s first online news portal ‘Nepal News’ as sub editor. While he was working on Nepal News, covid happened and then they had to leave their job. He got so many offers after that and he joined ‘Kendra Bindu Tv’ as sub editor. He was one man army in that tv. He Knew how to use camera, he could edit videos, design, he could write news, feature stories. He started a talk show called “Interview with interviewer” from Kendra Bindu tv. That show was famous among journalists then. He talked to his guests about their life story, their thoughts and so on. After some time, he joined another well-known online portal called Ratopati where he worked as a Multimedia chief for a year. He started a show called “talk with the top” and ‘Couple talk” and both shows had a fan base among public. While working at Ratopati, he got an offer In Nepal Television to work in a project named ‘ Doorsanchar prabidhi ra sewa’. As a multimedia journalist, Neupane serves as the bridge between traditional and digital journalism, coordinating multimedia elements for news stories. Throughout his career, Neupane has covered a wide range of topics, from political scandals to entertainment issues. He is a mentor to younger journalists, sharing his knowledge and experience to help nurture the next generation of reporters. He firmly believes in the power of journalism to bring about positives change in society and remains committed to pursuing truth through his reporting.
